Essential oils should form an important part your hair care regimen specifically because of the healthy benefits your hair stands to benefit from. Essential oils are usually obtained or extracted from the non seed part of a plant such as the flower and other different parts of the respective plants. Although all are essential oils, they have different uses and benefits when used on your hair. Briefly, let us learn about the two of these essentials oils and their benefits.
1. Hemp seed
Doctor Andrew Weil recommends the use of hemp seed in making oil, protein powder or milk, all of, which contain healthy dose of omega 6 and omega 3 essential fatty acids. He points out that this oil can be used in shampoo to relieve dry and itchy scalp as well as adding shine to the hair. Actually, some of the specialty shampoos found online contain this type of oil. However, if you want, you can make your own chemical free oil infused hair treatment or even opt for topical application of hemp seed oil.
How to make a shampoo
Start by mixing a half cup of water and a half cup of liquid soap in a large bowl. On the mixture, add a half tablespoon of hemp seed oil and stir all the ingredients using a wooden spoon. Then transfer the mixture into an empty shampoo bottle. Use the shampoo as usual when cleaning your hair.
You can also make a hair mask from the comfort of your home in easy steps. You will need to mix three tablespoon of milk, a banana, three tablespoon of honey, an avocado, rosemary, an egg white and 5 tablespoons of hemp seed oil, all in a blender. Then apply the mask on your hair and leave it for 5 minutes before rinsing off the mask using cool water and style it as usual.
2. Argan oil
It is extracted from the nuts of an Argan tree specially available in Morocco. This oil was discovered to have miraculous impacts in protecting nails, skin as well as hair. Argan oil is specifically helpful in smoothing brittle and dry hair. Besides having moisturizing properties, argan oil helps in taming hair that is hard to manage and control.
