Shampoo For Scalp Acne: What you Should Look For
Scalp acne is not one of the most noticeable problems unless you are bald or have very short hair. This makes the problem easy to be overlooked. However, overlooking this condition may lead to severe pain, discomfort, and even hair loss. In most cases, acne on the scalp occurs when pores becomes clogged with oil and dirt.
This causes hair follicles to swell, and in most cases, become infected with bacteria if the clog is not cleared. This clogging may be caused by hyperactive sebaceous glands (often caused by severe stress, poor scalp hygiene, hormonal imbalance, and poor diet). The good news is that the problem can easily be solved by using the right shampoo.
Not every shampoo in the market will solve this problem. As a matter of fact, some shampoos will exacerbate the condition. Results have often shown that organic shampoos are more effective in dealing with scalp acne. Synthetic shampoos containing key natural ingredients may also serve your purpose relatively well. As you go shopping for an ideal shampoo, look at the product’s label. The label should tell you about the active ingredients used in producing that product.
When possible, go for 100% natural shampoos. In other cases, look for specific ingredients. To start with, make sure that your desired product contains salicylic acid. This compound is known to be a powerful acne-fighting ingredient and it will produce results within a short time if used regularly.
Other natural ingredients that you should also consider are lavender and tea tree oil. If a product contains both, then consider buying it. On its part, lavender oil helps in reducing inflammation. It is also effective in combating the activity of hyperactive sebaceous glands. Lavender oils combat the effects of excess natural oil (sebum) produced by overactive sebaceous glands. Tea tree oil, on the other hand, contains exceptionally useful properties. This ingredient has been used for a long time as an antiseptic. It contains antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties.
If you do not mind about the strong garlic smell, go for natural shampoo for acne that contains this product. In its pure form, garlic will make acne disappear. As an active shampoo ingredient, it will help you achieve the desired results.
Scalp acne treatment doesn’t need to be a tall order. By using the right shampoo, keeping your scalp clean, avoiding oily styling products, avoiding stress, and eating a healthy diet, you should be able to effectively deal with this condition. It should be as simple as that.
